June 26 and it is only 68 degrees outside. Where on Earth is the nice weather? My littles are ready for summer weather and to be able to go swimming and play outside. I walked across the street to talk to the neighbors, who are having a garage sale, and they were wearing sweatshirts! Hopefully it will warm up soon.
I was planning on spending today working on some classroom prep. I had a list of things to do, including printing my new word wall labels, book bin labels, and an assortment of other stuff. Unfortunately, things don't always work out as planned. I went to start printing, but for some reason my printer won't print blue ink. What the? I tried a head cleaning and nozzle check, but to no avail. The ink levels appear to be fine, so I don't know what is happening. I have been having zero luck with technology lately. Last week, I logged on to the Cricut Craft Room to cut some snowflakes for Goose's 6th Frozen-themed birthday party. My computer wouldn't recognize my Cricut!! So frustrating! I ended up having to cut snowflakes out by hand. This was the point of getting a Cricut in the first place, so I would not have to cut stuff out by hand. Now, that is on my to do list of things to fix. I will spend more time on it when I have the patience.
I'm sure there is some other prep work I can be doing. I opened a TPT store to sell some of my writing. I write a lot of the short stories I use in class. I've realized it can be a great encouragement to the students who don't like to write. Once they have realized I wrote the story they are reading, they get really excited to try and write something of their own. It also is convenient when I can't find a story that will relate to what I am doing.
